Terms of Use & Privacy

General

Senior Job Search is committed to respecting the privacy and confidential information of our users.  This page details the use policies and practices that apply to SeniorJobSearch.com and any other sites that are owned by or in conjunction with Senior Job Search.  By using this website, you agree and consent to the policies and practices that are stated herein.  From time to time, we may elect to change certain provisions of these Terms of Use without notice to any party.  You are considered to be visiting this site under the Terms of Use that are in effect at the time you use this site.

SeniorJobSearch.com is hosted in the United States and is subject to the laws of the United States of America and it's states and territories.  If you are accessing SeniorJobSearch.com from outside the United States, you consent to use this site under the applicable laws of the United States.  Both employers and job-seekers are fully responsible for their own behavior and for the content of whatever they post.

Free employment ads

Senior Job Search will allow free postings of job offers for a limited time.  No, we do not know how long that will be, and we won't respond to inquiries asking such.  It will probably be 6 months or more.  Who knows... if everyone behaves, we may actually leave it that way indefinitely.  That would be nice, wouldn't it?  If we do have to charge, it will only be business accounts, and free listings will continue through their normal run.  So in other words, if you posted a free job listing, it will stay listed for the full 60 days.

Disclosure

Certain types of agencies will always have free listings here.  It is our duty and privilege to help non-profit organizations obtain employees and volunteers.  Examples of such organizations would be anyone working with SCSEP jobs, senior meal programs, or any other organization that has filed a 501(c3) form with the IRS.

Free employment ads

Posting your resume here will always be free.  Nothing more to say about that.  It's just that simple.

Posting of appropriate ads and resumes

Unless otherwise stated, Senior Job Search is not affiliated with any any company advertising jobs, products, or services herein.  If you see an employment ad that you are interested in, contact that party directly yourself.  If you contact us about your interest in any job listed here, you will not receive a reply.  We do not know the employer, and we do not have additional information about employers.  If we did, we wouldn't release it to you anyway.

Advertisers and those that place job orders with Senior Job Search are independent parties, and fully responsible for all content placed on our servers in association with such advertising.  Those advertisers are fully responsible for the content of such job offers and resumes.  If you apply for a job and don't get it, ask the employer why.  We don't know, and it's none of our business.  If you have a problem with an employer listed here, it's not our issue either.  Please keep it to yourself, share it with your friends, or better yet, talk to the employer and find out what went wrong.  We are not arbitrators, and we are not going to make judgments or remove any employer's account based on your complaint.

Legality of ads

Senior Job Search requires all employers who place jobs under their account to advertise and fill those jobs according to applicable U.S. Federal, state, and local regulations.  The purpose of Senior Job Search is to help promote job offers that are available to people over age 50, and without respect to any other criteria other than that which is specifically required to perform the job, including professional qualifications.

Senior Job Search requires that all employers who post jobs, do so under these requirements and by placing such job orders, warrant that each job order is for an available job and meets all legal criteria, and that such jobs are AVAILABLE to people over age 50.  You do not HAVE to fill the job with someone over age 50; you just make it available to them.

Senior Job Search does not read job descriptions, investigate the credibility of posted jobs or the employers that post them, warrant any accuracy of any information posted by any employer, or guarantee that any employer is in compliance with Federal, state, local laws or the terms of use of this site.  It is ultimately and completely the responsibility of the employer to research, interview, and verify any claim or status that is made by any prospective employee.  It is the responsibility of each employee to research and verify claims and status of any prospective employer.

Senior Job Search is not your legal clearing house to make sure that you have posted ads correctly, or legally defined the terms and conditions of employment.  We may never even see your ad.  When you post here, we assume you have enough competence to place a proper, legal, and professional ad.  If you do not, it's a personal issue.  Nor are we your attorney.  If you have legal questions regarding compliance with the law, see your attorney.

Removal of ads for non-compliance

That not withstanding, Senior Job Search will remove without notice or refund, any job notice that is deemed to be inappropriate, illegal, unethical, or puts Senior Job Search at potential risk.  Senior Job Search shall be sole determiner of such status.  However, this notice shall not constitute in any way that Senior Job Search assumes any responsibility or liability for posting or removing or not removing any such ad.  This responsibility resides completely with the poster of said job ad.  If you believe that any ad is illegal, let us know.  We may or may not agree with you but in the event that we do not agree, Senior Job Search does not accept any liability for not removing the ad.

Neither do we accept any liability for the removal of any ad within any given period of time.  Chances are that we will review your complaint, but time and staff restrictions may delay such review beyond what you would like.  Any review and removal is considered to be a voluntary public service, not a legal responsibility.  Your only course of action is with the employer who posts the ad.

Likewise, Senior Job Search is not responsible for the content of any resume found on our site.  Senior Job Search does not read resumes, and cannot know the content of said resumes unless we are advised of its inappropriate or illegal nature.  However, this notice shall not constitute in any way that Senior Job Search assumes any responsibility or liability for posting or removing or not removing any such resume.  This responsibility resides completely with the poster of said job resume.  If you believe that any ad is illegal, let us know.  We may or may not agree with you but in the event that we do not agree, Senior Job Search does not accept any liability for not removing the resume.

Persons or companies found to have posted any material detailed above shall have their access immediately and permanently terminated without refund or recourse.  Acceptable use of this site requires an automatic acceptance of any and all provisions found on this site, including but not limited to this page.  If you choose to not read terms and conditions and acceptable use of this site, you remain fully responsible for doing so as well as the consequences of not abiding by such terms.

Resumes

Senior Job Search will attempt to prevent unauthorized access to resumes except by paying individuals or companies who are seeking to hire employees, law enforcement personnel and Senior Job Search personnel or authorized agents.  Due to the nature of the Internet and potential attempts to gain access to this database, it is conceivable that an unauthorized individual could obtain access without our knowledge and without proper authorization.  This could also happen by someone granting access to another person under their login and password, without our knowledge or consent.

You may remove your resume from the Senior Job Search database at any time but keep in mind that anyone who has previously gained access to your resume, may still retain a copy of it on their computer.  Senior Job Search cannot control the retention of a copy of your resume on a system that is not under our authority and control.

For various unlikely reasons, there is also the potential for loss of recent data if backup restoration procedures must be implemented.

SJS is not and shall not be held liable for such data loss or the results of any unauthorized access.  By placing your data on SJS servers, you accept this risk and agree to not hold SJS responsible.
